Scammer sendet Videobotschaft an sein Opfer und gibt Interview
Ein besonders dreister Facebookbetrüger hat seinem Opfer eine Videobotschaft geschickt, um zu beweisen, daß er „echt“ sei
Das im Artikel weiter unten veröffentlichte „Interview eines reumütigen Scammers“ wurde dem Opfer gegeben, nachdem der Betrüger merkte, daß er mit seiner Story von „einsamer U.S. Soldat sucht Liebe“ aufgeflogen war.
Warnung vor Romancescammer, der sich Thomas Adams nennt, und auf Facebook sowie zahlreichen anderen Dating-Seiten Accounts mit verschiedenen Alias-Namen unterhält und sein Unwesen treibt, um sich immer neue Opfer zu suchen
Hierbei wird oft erzählt, man sei Offizier in der U.S. Armee und verwitwet mit Kind (Sohn). Fernab der Heimat im gefährlichen Einsatz gegen den Terrorismus in Afghanistan sucht der Scammer angeblich eine Fernbeziehung – spätere Heirat und Familiengründung in den U.S.A. nicht ausgeschlossen.
Der Schwindler versucht sich zunächst mit Schmeicheleien und Liebesgedichten das Vertrauen des Opfers zu erschleichen. Telefonate und Chats folgen – aber niemals Live-Chats vor einer Webcam. Wünsche nach einem Webcam-Chat umschifft der Schwindler geschickt mit Argumenten – es gäbe keine Webcam im Armee-Casino oder es wäre verboten (aus „Sicherheitsgründen“) sein Gesicht vor einer Cam zu zeigen. Sobald er sich sicher ist, daß das Opfer angebissen hat und Gefühle entwickelt, folgen die ersten, zunächst kleinen Geldforderungen (z.B. Geschenke für den „Sohn) die sich steigern bis zu exorbitanten Kosten für Krankenhausaufenthalte der angeblich sterbenskranken Mutter oder „Kautionsstellungen“, um einen Urlaub antreten zu dürfen, inklusive der Kosten für den Flug.
Es gibt ein gern verwendetes Formular zur Beantragung eines Urlaubs oder für eine vorläufige Entlassung aus der Armee („leave-request“). Es wird gerne benutzt, um dem Opfer vorzugaukeln, man benötige Geld, weil die Armee eine Art „Kaution“ verlangen würde, wenn ein Soldat einen Urlaub antreten oder vorzeitig aus dem Dienst entlassen werden möchte, was natürlich alles Humbug ist.
Dieses ausführliche Interview mit einem angeblich „reumütigem“ Scammer stellte mir ein Opfer des Betrügers zur Verfügung, die sich monatelang von Ihrer neuen Internetbekanntschaft belügen und sowohl emotional als auch finanziell ausbeuten liess:
